“Vilniaus džinas” link with Vilnius city is in that it is produced in Vilnius for more than 30 years. The product is in good consumer demand. The term “Vilniaus džinas” may be used to denominate a spirit drink with at least 45% vol. alcoholic strength produced by redistilling rectified grain ethyl alcohol with an initial alcoholic strength of 96.6% vol. in the presence of juniper berries and other natural botanicals allowed according to the gin production technology and adding to the mixed components water specially treated by the method of reverse osmosis and rectified not lower than “Ekstra” type ethyl alcohol. According to Council Regulation (EEC) No. 1576/89 this drink is classified as: (m) Juniper-flavoured spirit drinks 2 (b) distilled gin.
