The Association
The Association of Enterprises Trading in Alcoholic Beverages was founded in 2003. It consists of 8 economic entities, which produce approximately 85 % of all Lithuanian alcoholic beverages (except beer) and are engaged in approximately 85 % of all wholesale trade in alcoholic beverages (except beer).
The Association of Enterprises Trading in Alcoholic Beverages is a representative of Lithuanian alcohol industry in the organizations of Lithuania and the European Union. It appears to be one of the biggest structures of food industry in Lithuania in regard to production volume, number of employees and amount of paid tax.
By performing its functions the association:
· seeks to protect, support and increase the opportunity to produce and sell alcoholic beverages by accepted means;
· seeks to reduce the tendencies of excessive usage of alcohol;
· researches the dynamics of the market and the perspectives of development in Lithuania;
· coordinates the actions of industrial enterprises in relations with other enterprises and organizations;
· observes and researches global achievements of technology sector, maintains relations with industrial, educational and public institutions and organizations in Lithuania and abroad;
· participates in exhibitions and fairs;
· organizes conferences and discussions of various problematic scientific, technical and productive matters;
· represents its members and defends their interests in relations with state institutions of the Republic of Lithuania;
· helps its members to make contacts with foreign enterprises;
· seeks to enhance the culture of usage of alcoholic beverages in Lithuania;
· seeks to ensure that alcoholic beverages of corresponding quality are sold to Lithuanian customers;
· encourages and supports fight against trade in illegal alcoholic beverages;
· seeks to strengthen the economy of Lithuania, helps enterprises to find new markets and establish as favourable conditions for investments in Lithuania as possible.
Since the start of its activities the association has been engaged in the activities of international organizations, participated in CEPS events, FIVS conferences and prepared reports on the market of alcoholic beverages of Lithuania.
